Internal Medicine |
The staff at Animal Medical Clinic has state of the art diagnostic capabilities at its disposal. These include a tonopen for measuring intraocular (internal eye) pressure, a Doppler blood pressure unit, computerized ECG machine, an ultrasound machine, and in-house serology and CBC machines. In addition, we use outside laboratories and work closely with board certified veterinary specialists such as an endocrinologist, cardiologist, dermatologist, and internist/oncologist. Our goal is to correctly diagnose a problem in order to provide proper treatment. |

Surgery |
We offer the most current anesthesia protocols available for pets, including the use of halothane and isoflurane gas anesthesias and a variety of injectible anesthetics. We routinely perform all general surgeries including spays, neuters, declaws, soft tissue surgeries (thyroidectomies, tumor removals, organ biopsies), and orthopedic surgery. For more complex surgical procedures and orthopedics, we have a board certified surgeon on staff who is available as needed. |
Reproductive Services |
Through the use of progesterone timing to predict the period of peak fertility in dogs, we can advise clients on optimum timing for breeding activities. We also offer artificial and surgical insemination services. |
|
Preventative Health Care |
We strongly recommend yearly check-ups to keep your pet healthy and detect problems early. Early diagnosis allows a better chance of successful treatment. |

Radiology (X-Rays) |
We use x-ray equipment, including an automatic processor, daily to assist in making accurate diagnoses of your pets' problems. We routinely perform barium series, OFAs, and other radiographic procedures. |
Dentistry |
A healthy mouth is essential to the overall health of your pet. We use an ultrasonic scaler to remove plaque from teeth and have high and low speed compressed air dental drill units. We are equipped to do extractions as well as fillings and root canals. |

Vaccinations |
Vaccinations are by far one of the most cost-effective medical treatments available and can save your pet from unnecessary suffering or premature death, and can help save you from big veterinary bills. |
Ultrasonography |
The use of ultrasonography in veterinary medicine offers an alternative to invasive diagnostic procedures. We offer abdominal ultrasounds to determine pregnancy and to look for disease and tumors in the abdomen. It also gives us the capability to perform needle biopsies, usually without the risk of anesthesia. We also perform cardiac (heart) ultrasounds to diagnose cardiomyopathy and other heart conditions in dogs and cats. A licensed ultrasound technician performs all the cardiac ultrasounds, which are videotaped and sent to a board certified veterinary cardiologist to be evaluated. |

All Cats Clinic |
All Cats Clinic is our facility for cats only which includes a separate reception area and a separate examination area. Your cat need never see a dog again! The cat clinic is located just down the street next door to Blockbuster video. |

Lion Cuts for Cats |
If you have a long-haired cat whose coat sheds or matts excessively, a lion cut may be just what the doctor ordered. This procedure involves clipping the pet's fur to a length of 1/4 inch everywhere except the head, tail, and feet. All cats are midly sedated for this procedure. |
|
Grooming |
Professional grooming for dogs is available at 4 Paws, a separate business in the Animal Medical Clinic building. |
|
Boarding |
Canine guests are accomodated either in climate controlled runs measuring three by eight feet or in cages, are taken on supervised walks at least twice daily, and have fresh water replenished twice daily. Unless owners elect to provide their regular dog food, dogs are fed Science Diet Maintenance. Accomodations for feline guests are separated from canine quarters and consist of cages equipped with litter boxes and food and water dishes. Your pet may enjoy one of two cat-friendly views: a 50-gallon aquarium or the outside bird feeders. CAT-TV, you might say. |
